CEO, Chairman, and U.S. Armed Forces Veteran, Brandon Wheeless, founded Alux Properties in 2017 with a mission to “enhance the quality of life of everyone in his community” through his construction projects. Since then, Alux Properties has been synonymous with innovative, tech-centric, and green building developments and practices. His latest project, The Bailey, is a progressive medical rehab center hailed as the “future of country clubs” at the intersection of luxury, innovation, tech, and five-star service.
A talented NCAA basketball player, Brandon graduated magna cum laude from Norfolk State University while he was a part of their 2012 championship basketball team. He has since exchanged his Air Jordan Melo M9’s for steel toe boots, but the “Sledgehammer Soldier” is still scoring the money shot for his clients in commercial real estate.
A commercial real estate expert and construction professional since 2012, Brandon has developed and/or built an array of industrial, office, retail, institutional, and mixed-use structures. He cut his project management teeth while serving in the U.S. Navy, and later the U.S. Army from 2006 to 2017. Here he piloted ambitious logistical operations for personnel and equipment movement to stations and bases around the world—including managing a fleet of 750 vehicles.
Following his PMP accreditation and acquisition certifications, the Army appointed him to execute several infrastructure building projects for local and international bases. These ground-up, large-scale developments ranged in budget size from $2 million to over $2.7 billion.
A domestic 745,000 square foot community hospital that doubled the size of the medical center’s existing amenity at the time (2014). It included two wings — an outpatient clinic and a 70-bed inpatient partition.
Other noteworthy projects include various office spaces, high-end liquor stores and a 140,000 square foot maintenance facility. The facility is an on-demand dispatch center for various field vehicles. Brandon took the project from conception to ribbon-cutting, incorporating forward-thinking energy-efficiency and environmental remediation initiatives along the way.
Today, Alux offers design, build, and construction management services worldwide. Through its team of vertically integrated industry veterans, subsidiaries, and partnerships in community development, commercial real estate, investment, and property management, Alux has shown full capability and expertise in various scopes of engineering, procurement, and construction work.
